Hot For Teacher
This week I was invited to give a scarf tying demonstration to a Ladies Fashion Club based in Virginia.
There are a couple guidelines I follow when speaking or just "being" in front of people, especially if I know my photograph will be taken:
-wear heels. (They make me take myself more seriously). These suede pumps are by BCBG.
-choose a flattering color (no white) close to the face. A navy tank top from J. Crew fits the bill.
-define the waist. I'll always look for an excuse to pull out my vintage navy leather pencil skirt. (Psst: combining a top and skirt in similar tones is lengthening, particularly when the top's neckline is a "U" or "V".)
-add one element of "pizzazz" to the ensemble, like the leopard spots on my JCPenney cardigan. Gotta make it memorable.
-put on lipstick.
