How to Wear Your Scarf

This, my friends, may be the most fateful sketch of my lifetime. 

After it was originally published in October of 2012, an editor at Chronicle Books (I love you Laura Lee!) saw it and reached out to ask me if I would write and illustrate 50 Ways to Wear a Scarf. (Click that link if you're interested in reading the rest of the unreal and totally true story behind this fateful drawing and my first book.)

How could I have known that five years to the day after completing this sketch I would be working on my third title, that this humble little drawing featuring scraps leftover from my architect mother's blueprints would be the impetus for a direction of my life and career far brighter than anything I could have ever dreamed?
