Cherry Bomb
A late summer infusion of inspiration.
Last weekend, some of my pals from college came for a visit. They were hollering for some good DC shopping, so we swung by Current Boutique on 14th Street. In the sale racks, I found this cotton dress in my ideal shape: a halter to show off the shoulders, some definition on the chest, and a high waisted silhouette falling into a flattering swingy skirt. The best part, nonetheless, is the cutout in the back, which makes me feel thrillingly, if slightly, exposed.
The feminine shape of the dress offsets a pair of chunky Kork-Ease sandals (similar to these) I recently uncovered in the clearance section at Nordstrom Rack while home in Michigan. Honestly, I'm tired of summer sandals that aren't supportive (is this what adulthood feels like?), and these puppies may be the most ergonomic of the pack. In my favorite color - a bright tomato red - they've been elevating my summer go-to dresses all month.
Lastly, the good people at Kate Spade sent me this "Love Is In the Air" tote earlier this summer. No doubt, there is a lot of love in this air 'round here.
Hope you're enjoying these dog days as much as I am - September ain't here yet.
