I met Jane Marie approximately fifteen years ago when her mom used to live down the street from my family in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was the cool older sister I always wanted, the one with the enviable haircut and the clothes I dreamed of stealing.

Now, I am lucky to say that Jane has written a piece about me and 50 Ways to Wear Denim on The Hairpin. We spent approximately two thirds of this interview talking off-record about boys and the other third talking denim, drawing, and receiving fateful emails during Hurricane Sandy.
