Author At Her First Book Signing
This is the kind of title I would write on this blog - something evocative, specific to a time and place - that usually had nothing to do with where the actual outfit was worn. For instance, this oldie but goodie.
But this title is the genuine, bona-fide truth. Though I may change my mind on the big day regarding the details of the real life outfit, I will, in fact, be having my very first book signing on Thursday, May 8th from 4pm - 7pm at Proper Topper. (Just the loveliest shop in Dupont Circle, with so many wonderful things. And an amazing scarf selection!)
As for the outfit, I sketched one of my favorite looks from the 50 Ways, #4 The Paris, and book sign'ed it up. That's a ice cream cone and rainbow print scarf from my grandma's closet, a draped navy jacket by Walter scooped up secondhand, my Saint James shirt, Levi's jeans, SEE glasses, and my Prada leopard print pumps: because whenever I put those bad girls on I feel like I could walk a red carpet. Which is the feeling you're supposed to have, I believe, at your first book signing.
If you're in the DMV area, please stop by Proper Topper on May 8th from 4pm to 7pm! I'll be signing copies of 50 Ways to Wear a Scarf and giving scarf tying demonstrations. I would love to see you there!
Last but not least, this week marks the fourth birthday of this little blog, don't miss the parties from the beginning, year two, and year three.
