Satya Twena

While I was in New York last week, I had the distinct pleasure of visiting the milliner Satya Twena at her studio in Midtown. Before letting me pick out this incredible felt hat (the blue almost matches my eyes), Satya showed me how she makes each piece, hand blocking the materials on antique hat molds and adding embellishments like feather butterflies or vintage lace.
